Nagato is a shinobi of the rain village and a descendant of the Uzumaki clan. He founded Akatsuki with his friends Yahiko and Konan (also post-war orphans) with a violent desire to bring peace to the shinobi world. However, after Yahiko's death, Nagato adopts the alias Pain and joins forces with konan to lead Akatsuki in a new direction and become an organization to bring peace to the world at all costs.
