Saiken and the Tailed Beast first appeared on the day of Hagoromo Otsutsuki's death, who used his crafting technique to split the Ten-Tails' chakra into nine separate bodies and give each body a name. Some time after its creation, the sage explains to the young tailed monster that despite their separation, the bond between them remains.
